After graduating from high school, I attended Henderson Beauty College, graduating in the summer of 1959. Went to work at the Vogue Beauty Salon in Morganfield. In October 1959, I married Tom Acker. On February 14, 1961, we had our first child, Mark Allen Acker. By then I was a stay-at-home Mom. Then August 23, 1965, we had a daughter, Beth Anne Acker. In May 1970 we bought our home and 13 acres about 9 miles west of Morganfield. We had not planned on any more children and guess what? On December 5, 1971, we were blessed with another son who we named Henry Ellis Acker. He was named for his two grandfathers.

Now the good part, Mark and Pat have two daughers, who are married. Also Beth and Mike have a son and a daughter. Then Henry and Melinda have a daughter and a son. So now we have another "little Acker boy" to carry on the family name. Our oldest grandaughter and her husband have a 23 month old son. Yeah, that makes Tom and I "Great Grand Parents", and we both are very-very proud of him.

Tom and I are both members of Shiloh Christian Church about 4 miles from where we live. I am working part-time as a "Title Five" at Audubon Area Community Services, also for the Senior Citizens here in Morganfield. I do enjoy it very much as I am a people person. I am also very involved in our church activities.

I certainly am looking forward to seeing everyone on June 13 & 14 to see if anybody has changed, or how many of us still look the same. Ha-ha.

Hope to see everyone then,

Anetta (McGill) Acker
