Janice Hare attended HCHS with us during our Freshmen year and was in Miss Edwards' home room. Her mother, Iva Tooley Hare is a sister of Steve Tolbert's mother, making her his first cousin. She was preceeded in death by one brother (Darrell Dale), one sister (Alice Faye), her first husband, Thomas E. Clayton, Jr, and her father, Charles Freddie Hare.

Janice Clayton Gish

CADIZ, Ky. -- Janice Clayton Gish, 68, Cadiz, died at 3:10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2008, at her residence.

She was a homemaker. She was a member of Sebree Eastern Star Chapter No. 240.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Thomas E. Clayton Jr.; and her father, Charles Freddie Hare.

Survivors include her husband, Edward H. "Buddy" Gish; three daughters, Kimberly Majors of Henderson, Kathy Groves of Robards and Debra Clayton Curtis of Cadiz; one son, Thomas Eugene Clayton III of Batesville, Miss.; her mother, Iva D. Tooley Hare of Henderson; two brothers, Freddie Lane Hare and Harold Ray "Butch" Hare of Anthoston; eight grandchildren; and great-grandchildren.

Memorial services will be at 6 p.m. today at Goodwin Funeral Home in Cadiz. Burial will be at a later date in Fernwood Cemetery.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
